    Position Summary                                                                                                                     

    Under the direction of the Remittance Manager within the Finance Department, the Remittance Processor is responsible for the processing of outgoing remittances to the Firm’s clients.                                                                                 

    Responsibilities

     

    Essential Functions           

    • Process and reconcile daily reports detailing payments received on behalf clients
    • Produce detail files to be submitted to clients through various applications supporting amounts to be forwarded
    • Research and process account balance adjustments as necessary
    • Perform other related tasks including payment reversals resulting from returns from insufficient funds, etc.
    • Prepare and process refunds and amounts due to third parties from overpayments and other obligations
    • Meet daily and month-end deadlines

    Minimum Qualifications                                                                                                           

    • 1-2 years of payment processing or equivalent experience
    • Ability to work as part of a team while also working independently to complete assigned task
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Proficient in data entry
    • Strong attention to details
    • Excellent organization skills
    • Ability to prioritize
    • Ability to solve problems
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing                                                                       

    Preferred Qualifications                                                                                                           

    • IBM AS-400 / RMS experience a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with employees with the Finance and other departments
    • Open to direction, collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
    • Excels at operating in an fast pace, community environment                                                                                                                                                

    Physical Qualifications                                                                                                              

    • Be able to lift 5 lbs. or greater                                                                                                                 
    • Be able to sit 90% of the work day at times                                                                                          
    • Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed                                                                  
    • Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence       
    • Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/ or in writing (e.g. applicants, managers, employees)                                    
    • Be able to operate a computer, phone and/or equivalent devices                                                    
    • Be able to complete a minimum of a 40 hour flexible workweek schedule.
